Kimberly Compton, PA-C
I am a native of Patrick County and currently reside in Martinsville with my husband, Michael, and our daughter, Karli. I earned my undergraduate degree from Radford University before completing my Physician Assistant studies at the College of Health Sciences in Roanoke. After graduating in 1999, I joined Patrick County Family Practice, where I have proudly served the community as a Physician Assistant ever since.
I enjoy building lasting relationships with my patients and consider it a privilege to care for the community where I was raised. Outside of the office, I enjoy traveling, camping, reading, and running, as well as spending quality time with my family.
Mitchell T. Brown, DO
Born and raised in Mount Airy, North Carolina with strong family ties to Patrick County, I am excited to return to the area and provide it with the high quality healthcare it deserves. After graduating from Campbell University School of Medicine and completing my rural Family Medicine Residency in Watauga County, North Carolina; I feel equipped to both serve and be a part of this special community.
My specific interests within Family Medicine are geriatrics, preventative healthcare and sports medicine. However, when not in the clinic, you can find me on the golf course, walking along the Mayo River Trail or cooking with local produce in my kitchen.
Jaime Whitlow, PA-C
Jaime Whitlow, PA-C, is passionate about providing compassionate, personalized care to patients of all ages, from young children to older adults. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2005 and from Shenandoah University in 2008. Jaime chose a career in medicine because of her commitment to helping individuals and families live healthier lives. As a mother of three who calls Patrick and Henry Counties home, Jaime understands the importance of building lasting relationships and providing care that is both attentive and approachable. She is honored to serve the communities she loves and strives to make every patient feel comfortable, heard, and supported.
Brittney Dillon, DNP, FNP-BC
Brittney Dillon, DNP, FNP-BC has been providing compassionate, patient-centered care as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2015. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Radford University and previously received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 2010.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Brittney spent five years as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Carilion, where she gained valuable experience caring for critically ill children and supporting their families.
A native of Bassett, Virginia, Brittney is passionate about serving the rural community she calls home. She enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and helping individuals and families achieve their best health through preventive care and personalized treatment.
Outside of the office, Brittney enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. She loves gardening, canning, and taking advantage of the many outdoor activities Southwest Virginia has to offer.
Richard Cole, MD
Richard Cole, MD, leads the team at Patrick County Family Practice, with both the main office and urgent care office in Stuart, Virginia. He’s a family physician who’s certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Cole has been interested in medicine since he was 5 years old when he visited a clinic in his hometown for the first time.
He was later inspired to pursue a career in the medical field as a young man playing sports and taking care of horses on his family horse farm in Claudville, just outside of Stuart. When he began learning more about family medicine, he knew the specialty was for him.
Carolyn Hicks, FNP-C
Carolyn Hicks is new to practice here. She began her life across the road a Stuart Hospital and has lived on the mountain all her life. She is a graduate of Frontier Nursing university where she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing. She obtained her associate degree from Wytheville Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bluefield University. Carolyn is married and has five sons and 8 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family the most but also enjoys traveling and nursing. She is a volunteer for Special Olympics where she loves spending time with her team. Carolyn also enjoys spending time with her church family.
Pamela W. Wright, FNP-BC
Pamela is a native of Patrick County graduating from Patrick County High School in 1992. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 1996 and Master of Nursing Administration from UVA in 2006. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the UVA Medical Center and Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit and served as the Executive Director of the Caring Hearts Free Clinic of Patrick County.
She earned her Post-Masters Family Nurse Practitioner from Radford University in 2010. As an FNP she worked for Pioneer Family Medical until it closed with the local hospital in September of 2017 and joined the Patrick County Family Practice team October of 2017 and has volunteered weekly with the Caring Hearts Free Clinic since 2010. She also serves as a director of the free clinic board. She is active in her church, Five Forks Wesleyan, singing on the Praise and Worship Team and teaching in the children’s ministry.
She is the daughter of Ronald and Ruth Wilson and is married to Adam since 1997. Adam and Pam own and operate EMI Recycling and have 5 children: three grown boys and considers their life partners her own, Nathaniel and wife Loren, Seth and wife Lexi, and Joshua and girlfriend Lauren and two daughters at home Lexi and Layla. Adam and Pam have many other children they consider part of their family spread around the world after hosting 8 international students over the years. Pam enjoys God’s Creation as often as possible kayaking, hiking, gardening, and traveling and loves to end the day reading a good book.
Her life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Though imperfect in that application, she hopes that her life has been a reflection of God’s love to her family and community and looks forward to serving both in years to come.
Meagan Radford, NP, FNP-BC
Meagan Radford, NP, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bluefield College in 2018 and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Bluefield College in 2020. She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Meagan has spent much of her nursing career in Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing settings, serving in a variety of clinical and administrative roles. Her passion for improving patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of care inspired her to pursue advanced practice nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
A native of Patrick County, Meagan joined Patrick County Family Practice in July 2020. She and her husband, Kevin, enjoy spending time with family and friends while staying busy with their two young sons, Brendan and Huck.
Meagan currently provides healthcare services to patients at both The Landmark Center and Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. In addition to her work at these facilities, Meagan also sees a limited number of patients in the Patrick County Family Practice office. Her extensive experience in the long-term care and skilled nursing setting enables her to provide comprehensive medical management for patients with complex healthcare needs. She emphasizes preventive care and proactive health maintenance for individuals with multiple chronic conditions and is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to every patient she serves.
Kaitlyn G. Cobler, MSN, FNP-C
Kaitlyn G. Cobler, MSN, FNP-C, is a Rural Family Nurse Practitioner with more than eight years of experience in rural primary care and over eight years of surgical nursing experience. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Virginia's College at Wise in 2011 and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2018.
Kaitlyn provides compassionate primary and preventive care to patients of all ages. She is committed to building trusted relationships with her patients and partnering with them to achieve their health goals through personalized, high-quality care.
A lifelong member of the community, Kaitlyn enjoys volunteering with local 4-H and FFA programs, Girl Scout Troop #1302, and Cub Scout Troop #69. She is also an active member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church.
Crystal Black, FNP
She is passionate about preventive medicine and caring for patients of all ages using a holistic, collaborative approach to develop personalized care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends outside or curled up with a good book somewhere.
